LIVING A RADICAL PEACE
You can begin looking forward to the publication and availability of Living A Radical Peace: Creating Life Anew within the next five months. Oft delayed, several negotiations breaking down over what seemed essential details during the last couple years, the path seems clear. It is also quite appropriate for the delay. Subtle or not, there's been some hesitancy, it seems, in my willingness to go public with this book, or, better said, to truly know it will be okay for people to feel the fullness of it, and I need to let it flow through me and out.
And in recent months I've come across a couple books that have in their own way "rocked my world." I've been blessed and impressed by the courage of these others who walked the talk of the truths of their love.
Let me offer you an example of one woman who bucked the common belief and lived and acted in accordance with the Higher Authority. How many of you have heard of Christian Science? Now, how many of you have some understanding about it other than some vague statement or horror stories your parents or friends may have shared about "people who don't go to doctors."
I've been spending some time reading Science and Health with Keys to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Bear in mind, this book was first published in 1890. She, unlike the mass consciousness of both then and now, took the teachings she read within The Bible to heart and believed that Jesus was telling the truth. She acted on it.
Defying the church doctrines and the medical doctrines (plus bucking the societal prejudice against women), she brought healing to people whom doctors couldn't heal as well as demonstrating to people that matter was secondary to their essential spiritual substance and it was simply unnecessary for people to be ill at all.
By her actions and thoughts, she demonstrated matter's pliability, changeability, and how changing our beliefs about things can, indeed, create reality anew. Now, for those of you familiar with Quantum Physics or those who've seen the movie, What the Bleep Do We Know, give this woman who lived in the 19th and early 20th Century her due. And look deeper within yourself.
If you read Science and Health, you may not accept everything Mary B. Eddy says; discernment is up to you; but don't let that stop you from reading this very important book.

HOMELESS MAN PUBLISHES STORIES
There's a homeless guy living in Ashland, Oregon who hangs out around coffeeshops in town. A feature story about him appeared in today's (10/30/2005) newspaper He listens to people's stories and he's started putting out a small magazine that's meant to "shine a light on our commonality."
His name is Randy Dolinger and he's 51 years old. His new publication is called Express. In the Medford Mail Tribune article he's quoted AS saying: "It's so important, storytelling. it's what I hear all day from people - their stories - and I say,'why don't you write that down and we'll put it in the next issue."
Later in the piece he explains "The differences between us are incidental. They're delusions...Our experience is what we have in common."
Computer literate friends around town help him put the thing together and he can take $10 or $20 he's collected from sales to a local copy shop and run off more copies. Issues are $3.00 ea. (and he calls ads 'poison' so he doesn't intend to support the project that way either)
It would be real easy for Randy to be solely concerned about his own welfare. Instead this guy is seeing everyone of us as important and as One. Then he's taken the next step, despite the seeming limitations we might see in his life, and begun a project of love that helps share that.
Not sure how long this link will be good, but I'm including the newspaper link to the interview with Randy below. May it inspire you, too:

HOLIDAYS
I'm co-coordinating this year's Southern Oregon Book and Author Fair that's scheduled for November 19th in Ashland (10 to 4:00 at SOU's Stevenson Union Building, Rogue River Room), so it's been a bit busy.
I'll be there with copies of Rapture for sale. If you know friends living in Southern Oregon, point them to the fair. Free admission. There will be 80+ authors, including multi-award winner Jane Kirkpatrick. Check the website for more information: www.oregonbookfair.bravehost.com .
The next fun holiday thing is that my best friend is flying in for the long Thanksgiving weekend, so I'm looking forward to good times. Wishing all of you happiness, too.
