"IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, YOUR LIFE IS A PAGE. LIVE IT WELL!
(A somewhat different article this first month of the New Year)
It is the New Year 2004 now, and I’m recollecting in this moment, so many years later, those words that had been spoken in the chill of an evening as people gathered themselves ‘round a fire. The wisdoms spoken at those gatherings seemed to resound from that place where the stars are created.
Can you sit for some moments, right now, close your eyes, relax, and just imagine such a place? Can you believe yourself to be a star? Take yourself to the middle of deep, deep space, where your human ear can hear no sound, where All that surrounds you is the vibrant, eternal cosmos. Sit there, look around. What do you see? How do you feel?
Yes, it’s a bit discombombulating sometimes to realize there’s “nothing” around you, you’re just “floating”, no walls, no floors, nothing to grasp onto. Take it easy, you’re alright, allow the fears to slip away. When you are fearless, you are part of that vibrant cosmos. Travel through it easily, curiously, silently, allowing yourself to feel yourself as part of it all. Luxuriate in the stillness that actually reverberates with life.
Know that you are up held in the palm of a Creator. You, your existence, is not some biological fluke. Relax. You clammered to be born on Terra, pledged to be born here. Your life is a mission. Allow your star to shine as it desires, no longer to be hidden beneathe the proverbial basket.
Relax. Space is liken to a fabric of sorts. Space is not empty. It is teeming with life; and it is fearless. And, in the flip, every hard surface in the third dimensional “reality” you’ve been living, is, in actuality, filled with “nothing” but space, the stuff of deep, deep space. Quantum Physics came onto that at long last. Doesn’t that makes your Creator even more imaginative and powerful than many have considered?
Once you take the weight of worry off, it’s easier to relax and live in this place where stars are created. It is easier to make choices in every moment of your life, from that place.
Eternity has been, is, and will be. Eternity is all happening right now, at once. Eternity is evolving around you.
Life’s book is large and filled with many stories and adventures and deeds, and yet it is incomplete. It awaits the fulfillment of your story, the one you inscribe every minute of your life by the power of your thoughts, words, and actions. It is all a matter of moment-by-moment choice, so live as stars do - Being the star you truly are, and knowing you matter.
As was spoken once in the light of an evening’s fire under a darkening sky ablaze with a bajillion-zillion stars: “In the book of life, your life is a page. Live it well.”

GIVING MONEY AWAY – Check in Monday, January 5th, 2004
My friend Will sent me an email on New Year’s Eve stating, “Those of you who know me well understand that my grandiosity swells as New Year’s Eve approaches. Inevitably, I concoct some world saving initiative and then try to rope my friends into it.
This year is no exception. This year it’s about money.”
I’m believing that this is a cause many of you may want to participate, so I’m printing parts of his email below. The phone call is Monday, January 5th at noon Pacific Time. Here’s Will's explaining his plan:
“Measuring Wealth by Contribution, not Accumulation
“Many problems in our society can be traced to greed. So, a new way of thinking about money, and behaving with money, might help solve them.
"Currently, wealth is measured by accumulation: How much do you have?

"Here’s how it works:
- Each individual determines his/her ideal total income during the calendar year.
- He/she gives 10% of every dollar earned to charities/causes/people they choose to support.
- When/if the total income goal is met, anything additional is also given away. Ex: $70K is the target, $82K earned, $12K additional is given away.
The world we rescue for our grandchildren just might be our own.”
Will is committed to doing this in 2004, and he says that those who join in can help him decide where to give his year-end abundance. Anyone interested in dialoguing about this can connect via conference call every Monday at noon Pacific Time.
