I had not journeyed to India in search of something. For the most part, I figured I knew it all - and none of what I felt so assured of had any concern at all for Spirit! Yet, once in Rishikesh, the call of the Ganges River - Ma Ganga, the "Mother," as she is known - drew me to her side and the whisper of her began to move within me.

As I wrote in the Introduction to Moonlight on the Ganga:
"Gaze up at the full moon some clear evening. Luminous, mysterious, mystical, her light bathes and holds us rapt in an awesome stillness, inviting us to feel her peace. So, too, the sacred river of India - the Ganga; the sight of her, her mystic song, her awesome presence wakens the life of people along her banks, exhorting them to come, be near, fear not. Daring to expose your spirit to these two will unveil your own soul.
